Hello with you ICCup with you prodota with you Po My favorite city is Krasnoyarsk

image

Krasnoyarsk is a city in Russia, the largest cultural, economic, industrial and educational center of Central and Eastern Siberia, the capital of the Krasnoyarsk Territory (the second largest region in Russia). It is the largest of the ancient cities of Siberia. The population of Krasnoyarsk is about 1,052 thousand people (2015), the area is 386 sq. m. kilometer.

At first glance, Krasnoyarsk seems as ordinary as any other major Russian city: industrial, located on the banks of the river and with one of the main streets named after Lenin. However, having grown up there, I think it's a very unique place. It is known for its beautiful scenery, captivating mountain scenery, chilly temperatures, mighty Siberian taiga forests, and of course, the bountiful Yenisei River.

QUOTE:
Krasnoyarsk was founded by the Cossacks led by Andrei Dubensky in 1628 as a military settlement at the confluence of the Kacha and Yenisei rivers. Initially, the city-fortress was called "Krasny Yar", which in ancient Russian means "beautiful coast". Krasnoyarsk received city status in 1690, when Siberia was finally annexed to Russia. The monument to the founder of the city, Andrey Dubensky, stands on the top of Pokrovskaya Gora, one of the highest hills in the city, and looks at the amazing landscapes from below.

Krasnoyarsk is the easternmost city in Russia with a population of over a million people. It's a fairly compact city. From west to east, the length of the city is about 41 km, from north to south - about 37 km. Krasnoyarsk is divided into two parts by the Yenisei, its left-bank part is located in Western Siberia, the right-bank part is in Eastern Siberia. The climate is sharply continental. The average temperature in January is minus 15.5 degrees Celsius, in July - plus 19.1 degrees Celsius. Krasnoyarsk is a large scientific, educational and sports center of Russia. Siberian Federal University has more than forty thousand students. In general, more than 150 thousand students live and study here.

The city served as one of the places of exile. Eight Decembrists were exiled to Krasnoyarsk after the suppression of the uprising. In 1834 the City Garden was founded. Today it is the central park of the city. Further development of Krasnoyarsk took place at the expense of gold deposits found in the region, and the railway, built in 1895. In Soviet times, Krasnoyarsk was one of the largest cities in Siberia and the RSFSR. In 1934 Krasnoyarsk became the administrative center of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. The first children's railway in the RSFSR was opened in the Gorky Park of Culture and Leisure in 1936. During World War II, many factories were evacuated from European Russia to Krasnoyarsk. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the city experienced depopulation. But, at the end of the 20th century, the population began to grow again. On April 10, 2012, Krasnoyarsk became the 14th Russian city with a population of over one million people.

The main street is Prospekt Mira. It is just over four kilometers long and has beautiful architecture, monuments, squares, fountains and shops. There are two more main streets (Lenin St. and Karla Marksa St.) parallel to the world where you can find good restaurants and interesting places.

Other notable sights are the bridges that cross the Yenisei, connecting the left and right banks of Krasnoyarsk. The railway bridge has been one of the five bridges on the Trans-Siberian Railway since the 19th century. The communal bridge can also be found on the banknote. If you have the time and energy, cross this bridge on foot.

Walking next to the city embankment, you can see the Opera and Ballet Theatre, the fountain "Cascade of Siberian Rivers", the local version of the Big Ben clock tower (mayor's office), the local history museum and the River Port. If you are a lover of bicycles or roller skates, you should visit Tatyshev Island (Tatyshev Island), which can be reached by another beautiful bridge from the concert hall square. The concert hall itself is a very attractive place to see because of its grand piano shape.

Krasnoyarsk is the venue for the 29th Winter Universiade 2019.

There are dozens of hotels of different levels of service. "Hilton Garden Inn Krasnoyarsk" and "Novotel Krasnoyarsk Center" have the official status of four-star hotels. "Ibis Krasnoyarsk Center", "Krasnoyarsk", "Amax City Hotel" and "Oktyabrskaya" have the status of three-star hotels.

Krasnoyarsk stands on both banks of the Yenisei, in a basin formed by the northern spurs of the Eastern Sayan. This is the place where the West Siberian Plain, the Central Siberian Plateau and the Altai-Sayan Mountains converge.

Krasnoyarsk is known for a large number of fountains (more than two hundred) and sculptures.

The main sights of Krasnoyarsk:

Krasnoyarsk bridge-railway bridge across the Yenisei. In 1900, this bridge, along with the Eiffel Tower, was awarded the Grand Prix and the gold medal of the World Exhibition in Paris - “for architectural perfection and excellent craftsmanship”;

Krasnoyarsk hydroelectric power station is the most powerful hydroelectric power station in Russia, located in Divnogorsk, a suburb of Krasnoyarsk;

In winter there are many ways to enjoy your stay. For snowboarders and skiers, there are several fully equipped resorts nearby. But, when the weather is not favorable, you can also visit some unique museums. I highly recommend the estate of Surikov, one of the most famous artists in Russia, known for his large-scale historical subjects. This museum is located in the center next to the house where Vladimir Lenin lived for two months while waiting to be sent to Shushenskoye.

Of course, there are many more sights and places to visit in Krasnoyarsk. I am sure that travelers will be amazed that in the middle of dense taiga forests there is such a modern, cultural and developed city. Do not be afraid: behind the cold and closed eyes, warm hearts and cordiality of Siberian hospitality are hidden.

Welcome to Krasnoyarsk
