Tashkent City

It is the most populous city in Central Asia, with a population of 2,909,500 (2022).It is located in northeastern Uzbekistan, near the border with Kazakhstan. Tashkent comes from the Turkic tash and kent, literally translated as "Stone City" or "City of Stones".

Before Islamic influence started in the mid-8th century AD, Tashkent was influenced by the Sogdian and Turkic cultures. After Genghis Khan destroyed it in 1219, it was rebuilt and profited from the Silk Road. From the 18th to the 19th century, the city became an independent city-state, before being re-conquered by the Khanate of Kokand. In 1865, Tashkent fell to the Russian Empire; it became the capital of Russian Turkestan. In Soviet times, it witnessed major growth and demographic changes due to forced deportations from throughout the Soviet Union. Much of Tashkent was destroyed in the 1966 Tashkent earthquake, but it was rebuilt as a model Soviet city. It was the fourth-largest city in the Soviet Union at the time, after Moscow, Leningrad and Kyiv.

Today, as the capital of an independent Uzbekistan, Tashkent retains a multiethnic population, with ethnic Uzbeks as the majority. In 2009, it celebrated its 2,200 years of written history.

Peoples Friendship Palace

Palace Friendship of Peoples is one of the cultural centers of Tashkent city. Regulations of 1980, commissioned in 1981 (architects: Ye. Bukina, S. Odilov, Ye. Rozanov, Ye. Sukhanova, F. Tursunov, V. Shestopalov, Ye. Shumov, etc.). It is planned to hold various (conventions, congresses, festivals, etc.), go to concerts. Organizing various ceremonies for state officials in the concert hall. The appearance and decorations of the building use muqarnas-like forms characteristic of national architecture; raw materials for painting products, Nurghota and Goz marbles. The design of the building is rectangular, the quiet shapes that block the sunlight made to the style give the building strength, and the gables at the entrance give it a look. Precast reinforced concrete installation reminiscent of a muqars supported by marble placed on top of the building. In the center of the building is a 4,000-seat amphitheater-shaped hall with a balcony (slightly sloping sides help everyone to enjoy the spectacle). Assembly of the stage with special equipment (elevating platforms, presidium, conveyor allowing to move the stage and choir platforms during the performance, props for raising and lowering decorations, large-format screen). The hall has cinema sound equipment, devices for simultaneous translation of text into 8 languages, and special technological communication systems. The vestibule is decorated with natural stone mosaics "Friendship of Nations", "Bayram", "Gullagan olka" (artist A. Bukhorboyev). Presidium hall tapestry (artist B. Jalolov), auditorium "San'at" mosaic (artist V. Burmakin, R. Nemirovsky), wood carving (masters K. Haydarov, O. Faizullayev), banquet hall decorations (artist J. Hakimov, A Ilhomov), the side support is decorated with ceramic plates (artist A. Kedrin). The interior of the palace has a huge turquoise-colored tiled wall (open at the Tashkent porcelain factory).

The unique design of the building is similar to the archeological monuments of Varakhsha and Kampirtepa. The base of the building is square .
